Beauty tips and tricks are something that I love to read and try out but a lot of the time they simply just don’t work or are just more effort than what it’s worth! Here are some of my favourite and easy beauty tips!
Always fully remove makeup at the end of the day:
This seems like such an obvious beauty tip but it is one that a lot of people, including me, like to avoid. Removing your makeup at the end of the day is so important as it can cause extensive damage to your skin over time if you choose to sleep in your makeup. Our skin renews itself whilst we sleep so when you sleep with your makeup on you’re preventing it from happening. This leads to your skin not being able to breathe which can result in your skin looking tired and dull the next morning.
A lot of makeup products contain oily substances and when it’s left on your skin while you sleep it can clog your pores and lead to acne and blackhead breakouts. Because of this, it is so important that you fully remove your makeup and cleanse your skin before heading to bed to ensure that your skin is able to renew itself, and try to avoid acne and blackhead breakouts!
Make your perfume last longer:
Making my perfume last a long time was always something that I failed to do until I tried this trick!
If you apply an unscented moisturiser or Vaseline on the area you want to spray your perfume on before you spray it, the perfume will cling to the moisturiser/Vaseline and last SOOOO much longer!
Apply a white or flesh toned eyeliner to your waterline:
Applying a white or flesh toned eyeliner to your waterline will make your eyes appear less red and more awake. This simple trick will make you look like you didn’t stay up until 3 am looking at Samoyed videos on Facebook and that you actually got a full 8-hour sleep!
Leave your zits alone!:
This is a tip that I really need to take on board myself!
To try and make a zit/pimple go away quickly, don’t pick at it!! The bacteria on your hands will be transferred onto the area which will make the area redder and just make the zit/pimple worse if you try to squeeze it.
Clean your damn brushes!:
Again this is a tip that I really need to take on board myself…..
To fight against the potential growth of bacteria on your brushes that could lead to breakouts, try to keep your brushes clean. Aim to wash your brushes at least once every two weeks and for foundation, concealer and powder brushes, try to wash them at least once a week as they directly touch the skin.

Cleansers for dry skin:
If you have dry skin, use a cream or milk cleanser to wash your face. Cream and milk cleansers are less drying and damaging on the skin compared to gel cleansers so to keep your skin nice and hydrated, try to avoid gel formulas.
Revive dried mascara:
The #1 reason for flaky mascara is that the formula has gotten too dried or old. To revive dried mascara and extend the life of it, add 2-3 drops of saline solution into the mascara tube and mix it in with the wand and it should be as good as new!
